Are wildlife sightings guaranteed?
No. Wildlife is naturally free-ranging, and every photography experience takes place in its natural environment. Animal activity varies with weather, season, habitat conditions, and time of day. Every visit is unique, and while our ranches are selected for excellent wildlife opportunities, sightings can never be guaranteed.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation policies may vary by ranch and experience. The specific cancellation terms for your reservation will be displayed before you complete your booking and will also be included in your confirmation email.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Most photography sessions continue in light rain or changing weather conditions, as these often create unique photographic opportunities. If severe weather creates unsafe conditions, the ranch or Beyond the Gate will contact you to discuss rescheduling or any available options.
Can I reschedule my reservation?
Yes. Rescheduling is available based on each ranch's individual policies and availability. Please contact us as soon as possible if your plans change.
Do all ranches offer lodging?
No. Some ranches offer overnight accommodations such as cabins, ranch houses, casitas, or bunkhouses, while others provide photography experiences only. Each ranch listing clearly identifies available lodging and amenities.
Are meals included?
Meal options vary by ranch. Some overnight packages may include meals, while others provide kitchens, outdoor cooking areas, or recommendations for nearby restaurants. Details are listed on each ranch's profile.
Are the ranches accessible?
Accessibility varies depending on the property. Many ranches include uneven terrain, gravel roads, natural trails, and photography blinds. Please contact us before booking if you have accessibility needs so we can help you find the best experience.
Can children participate?
Many ranches welcome children when accompanied by a responsible adult. Minimum age requirements may vary depending on the experience, photography blind, or ranch safety policies.
Are pets allowed?
For the safety of wildlife, livestock, and other guests, personal pets are generally not permitted. Certified service animals may be accommodated in accordance with applicable laws and ranch policies. Please contact us before booking if this applies to your visit.
Is transportation provided?
Guests are responsible for traveling to the designated meeting location unless otherwise stated. Some ranches may provide transportation within the property after arrival. Details will be included with your reservation information.
What is your refund policy?

Do I need wildlife photography experience?
Not at all. Our experiences welcome photographers of all skill levels—from beginners using their first camera to experienced professionals. Guided sessions and workshops are also available at select ranches for those looking to improve their skills.
Can I rent camera equipment?
Equipment rental availability varies by ranch and event. Some guided workshops may offer loaner equipment or recommend local rental providers. Please contact us before your visit if you need equipment assistance.
Is wildlife photography safe?
Your safety is our highest priority. Participating ranches provide guidance on safe wildlife viewing and property access. Guests are expected to follow all instructions from ranch staff or guides, remain in designated areas, and respect wildlife at all times.
Will I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. All guests are generally required to complete a liability waiver before participating in photography activities. Additional ranch-specific forms may also be required before arrival.
Will I know the exact ranch location before I book?
To protect the privacy and security of participating ranches, exact property addresses and detailed directions are provided only after your reservation has been confirmed. General location information, nearby towns, and driving estimates are available on each ranch listing to help you plan your trip.
